About This Training
Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) provides participants with the knowledge and skills to identify signs of mental health and substance use challenges and respond with compassion and confidence. Through interactive discussion, applied practice and real-world scenarios, participants learn how to start supportive conversations and connect individuals with professional, peers, or self-help resources. This training is invaluable, especially in the workplace where fostering mental wellness is key.
The Wellness Council of Indiana (WCI) delivers the Adult Blended MHFA model, which includes a self-paced online module followed by a live, instructor-led session. Participants who complete the training receive a three-year MHFA certification.

Training Benefits and Learning Outcomes
What Participants Learn
Participants will learn how to recognize signs of emerging or worsening mental health challenges, engage in supportive and stigma-free conversations, apply a step-by-step action plan (ALGEE) to respond effectively, connect individuals to appropriate workplace and community resources, and promote a culture of care, trust, and mental safety.
A rotating schedule of virtual and in-person MHFA sessions is offered throughout the year and open to employers statewide.
