The Indiana Workplace Wellness Training Academy is a statewide training platform designed to help employers build practical skills that strengthen workplace culture and employee well-being. Through structured, facilitator-led learning experiences, the Academy equips leaders and teams with tools they can immediately apply in real workplace situations.
Our Purpose & Partnership
The Academy is an initiative of the Wellness Council of Indiana (WCI), developed in collaboration with the Indianapolis Colts’ Kicking The Stigma initiative.
Together, we are advancing mental health awareness, reducing stigma and strengthening workplace capacity across Indiana.
As a centralized hub for trusted education and applied workplace strategies, the Academy supports employers in building environments where employees feel prepared, supported and valued. Training experiences are designed to translate learning into action, strengthening both individual confidence and organizational culture.
As employer needs continue to evolve, the Academy will expand its portfolio of trainings and learning opportunities to address emerging workplace priorities.
What Makes the Academy Different
Built for the Workplace
Every training is grounded in real workplace scenarios-the conversations, responsibilities and challenges leaders face daily.
Evidence-Based & Trusted
Programs are grounded in research and delivered using nationally recognized curricula and best practices.
Skill-Focused & Action-Oriented
Participants leave with practical tools, language and strategies they can apply immediately, not just awareness.
Led by WCI Certified Instructors
All Academy trainings are delivered by certified Wellness Council of Indiana instructors who are authorized to teach nationally recognized curricula, including programs developed by the National Council for Mental Wellbeing, The Opening Minds (Mental Health Commission of Canada), and the QPR Institute.
Our instructors bring real-world experience working alongside Indiana employers and are trained to facilitate practical, stigma-reducing, and engaging learning environments.
Training Experiences
The Academy offers a rotating calendar of interactive, facilitator-led trainings available through open enrollment and onsite delivery.
Additional topic areas will continue to be introduced as the Academy grows.

Why This Program Matters
Workplaces play a critical role in employee health and well-being. Leaders are increasingly asked to respond to complex mental health and substance use challenges often without formal preparation.
The Academy exists to close that gap.
By building skills, reducing stigma and strengthening workplace confidence, the Indiana Workplace Wellness Training Academy helps organizations move from intention to action creating workplaces where employees feel supported, prepared and equipped to lead.
